The Labor Management parties, IBEW Local 6 and the San Francisco Electrical Contractors Association (SFECA), are committed to enhancing the competitiveness of the Unionized sector of the San Francisco Electrical Industry, its economic development and the job security of its employees.
To secure these objectives, the Electrical Industry Service Bureau (EISB), Inc., in its capacity as a Labor Management Cooperation Committee, is responsible for joint activities and programs calculated to promote the industry. To administer these joint activities and programs, the parties have appointed a subcommittee that operates under EISB, consisting of an equal number of labor and management representatives. The following represents an example of just some of the activities this committee has been involved in over the years:
- Participated in Rebuilding Together, community wide projects involving both volunteered labor and materials
- Made donations to various charities, including Rebuilding Together, St. Anthony’s Dining Hall, San Francisco Firefighter Toy Run, Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco.
- Organized the annual San Francisco Electrical Industry Invitational Golf Tournament as co-host with the San Francisco Electrical Inspectors Association
-
Administered the San Francisco Electrical Industry Annual Scholarship Program with awards granted to sons and daughters of contributors to EISB, their office staff and IBEW Local 6 members who work for contributing employers to EISB. This event is usually announced in the Spring, with interview and essays held in the late Summer.
-
Developed industry advertisements for placement in key construction publications such as the San Francisco Business Times and BOMA.
Look for future information on LMCC activities to be posted on this web page.
To further its commitment to promote the industry and eliminate impediments which reduce industry competitiveness, the EISB Board of Directs has also implemented Inside Wire and Sound and Communication Compliance Programs. The purpose of these programs is to monitor the bidding, awarding and performance of public works contracts affecting the electrical construction industry in San Francisco to ensure compliance with state, federal and local laws and regulations when awarding and performing public works projects.
