A. PARTICIPATION.

You become a Plan Participant once you have worked one (1) hour under the Master Collective Bargaining Agreement between IBEW Local 6 and the San Francisco Electrical Contractors Association, Inc. or other, independent contributing Employer in a job classification requiring contributions to be made to this Plan. Upon becoming a Participant, the Plan will establish an individual account in your name

Certain Employees of the Union, the Apprenticeship Trust, and employees of employers not affiliated with SFECA also participate in the Plan. Former bargaining unit members who qualify as "alumni" under Internal Revenue Code guidelines participate in the Plan, as well, pursuant to subscription agreements entered into between their Employers and the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees establishes the contribution rate for Alumni employees.
